Convert RINEX versions and Hatanaka files online, without installing anything
Upload a RINEX file to change its version, or to compress or decompress it with Hatanaka. No account needed for this panel.
Online RINEX Converter & Decompressor
Convert formats, change RINEX versions, or decompress Hatanaka files with no account required. Single-file conversion with instant header inspection.
Up to 20 MB per file · 10 free runs per day
Runs on our server; the input is deleted as soon as the result exists and the outputs after one hour.
What the panel above does
It changes a RINEX file to version 2.11, 3.04 or 4.01, and compresses or decompresses Hatanaka (.crx) files. It needs no account and takes RINEX files only.
Raw receiver logs: sign in
Raw logs from these receivers are converted in the signed-in converter, not in the panel above. A conversion costs 1 credit per file, and a free account includes 25 credits a month and files up to 100 MB. u-blox and Septentrio logs can also be converted without an account on their own pages.

RINEX 2, 3, and 4 version conversion
The signed-in converter writes any RINEX version from 2.00 to 4.02, with optional Hatanaka compression and gzip, and can split the output by day. RINEX 3 and 4 can carry signals that RINEX 2 has no identifiers for, so converting down to RINEX 2 for a legacy package drops them.
How to convert proprietary GNSS receiver logs to RINEX online
Step-by-step procedure to convert raw receiver data into standard multi-GNSS RINEX observation and navigation files.
Sign in and select the raw receiver file
Sign in, open Flux and upload raw binary logs from u-blox, Septentrio, Trimble, Leica, Topcon, NovAtel, or Javad receivers.
Configure target version
Choose target RINEX standard (version 2.11 for legacy workflows or 3.04/4.02 for modern multi-band constellations).
Apply compression options
Optionally enable Hatanaka (.crx) compact compression and gzip packaging for efficient archiving.
Execute conversion and download
Click convert to process in the cloud and download the converted RINEX files; a conversion costs 1 credit per file.
What won't produce a result
Worth checking before you upload, so a run doesn't cost you credits to tell you what your data was missing.
Uploading a log that has already been opened and re-saved by another program rather than the receiver's own raw output
The raw binary log written directly by the receiver. A file that has passed through an earlier tool can already be missing header fields the converter reads to identify the format.
A raw log with a truncated or unrecognizable header
A complete file from one of the supported receiver families. A corrupted or cut-off header leaves nothing for the parser to key its decoding off.
Common questions
Can I convert raw GNSS logs to RINEX online?
Yes, after you sign in. Flux converts raw logs from u-blox, Septentrio, Trimble, Leica, Topcon, NovAtel and Javad receivers to RINEX, and u-blox and Septentrio logs can also be converted without an account on their own pages.
What does conversion cost?
The panel on this page needs no account. In the signed-in converter a conversion costs 1 credit per file; a free account includes 25 credits a month and files up to 100 MB.
Can it convert RINEX 3 back to RINEX 2?
Yes, and the other way. Be aware that going down to RINEX 2 loses signal identifiers that have no RINEX 2 equivalent. That is a limitation of the format, not of the converter.
Does it handle compressed input?
Yes. Hatanaka (.crx / .##d) and gzip files are accepted, and Hatanaka compression can be applied on output.
